Hi! I'm Christina Jarvis

I'm from Seattle, WA, and I dabble in a wide variety of crafts. I let myself explore all the ideas that come to me and I like to try new ways of making stuff. I love that being an artist shows me how to see what's special about the seemingly ordinary. Most of my ideas are inspired by nature, or wanting to bring more kindness and connection to the world. I've learned that beauty and art are much less frivolous and more important than people tend to think.

Some of my favorite work is painting beloved pets for their people. I love seeing their pet come to life as I paint, and after, hearing what the portrait means to them.

I enjoy many mediums, like water color, acrylic, gouache, oil, digital, and Risograph printing.

what's with the name?

As a kid, one of my cousins couldn't pronounce my name—and thus, "skertina" was born.
Lots of my family still call me that today!
